With four candidates from the Congress and one from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) contesting on a total of five seats for the MLC election, the election is expected to be unanimous.
Congress candidates will file nominations today
The Congress has fielded Addanki Dayakar, Vijayashanti, Shankar Nayak, and CPI-backed candidate Nellikanti Satyam. Meanwhile, Dasoju Shravan is contesting from BRS. Monday is the last day for all candidates to file their nominations. However, the BJP has not fielded any candidate in the MLC elections. There are speculations that the BJP may stay away from this election and may not support any candidate.

BJP dominates graduate constituency
It is noteworthy that in the Legislative Council (MLC) elections in Telangana, BJP-supported candidates have already won two out of three seats in the Graduates constituency. The ruling Congress in the state remained empty-handed. Voting was held on February 27 for three seats of the State Legislative Council. In this, BJP-supported Chaudhary Anji Reddy defeated Congress's Narendra Reddy by more than five thousand votes in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates constituency. The result of this seat was declared early Thursday morning.

BJP wins in Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar teachers constituency
BJP-backed Malka Komaraiah won from the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers' Constituency. Independent candidate Sripal Reddy Pingili (backed by the teachers' union) won from the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers' Constituency.
