Key Update on LRS by Telangana Government

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has taken crucial steps to regularize unauthorized layout plots. A key announcement was made recently regarding this process. Starting from Monday, the regularization of plots under the LRS (Layout Regularization Scheme) has begun. Automatic fee payment documents are being issued for plots in survey numbers that are not listed in the prohibited list and are not in violation of hydra regulations. Under LRS, a total of 25.7 lakh plots across the state will be regularized. This move is expected to provide significant relief to those who have been waiting for regularization of their plots for the past four years.

The government has decided to expedite the regularization process for unauthorized layouts. If 10% of plots in any layout were registered by August 26, 2020, then the remaining plots in those layouts will now have the opportunity for regularization. The Telangana government has announced a 25% discount on regularization fees for those who pay the charges by March 31. If the LRS fee is paid but the application is rejected, a 10% processing fee will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be refunded to the applicants.

Those with plots in unauthorized layouts can regularize them under LRS. Starting Monday, the government has begun issuing automatic fee payment documents for these plots. This is a significant step after four years of waiting for regularization. The Congress government created a struggle for regularization during its tenure. Revenue and irrigation department officials have coordinated to compile the list of unauthorized layouts and integrated this information with software for processing.
